Holy Double Moly!!

I wouldn’t have thought it possible but ‘Holy double Moly’. One yacht, one captain, five ladies it must be vodi o’clock!!

Captain Ian and Mrs Mandy had some chums coming to stay for a week. The question is was the island of Limnos ready for crew ladies, Katie, Lucy, Debbie and Gremi (not your run of the mill name, I’ll grant you). Katie and Lucy were from Australia (I think your getting the picture now). Debbie and Gremi are Somerset lasses (you can see where this is heading can’t you).

The mermaids arrived in Merini 39 52’ 29N 25 02’ 98E (Limnos) at the crack of sparrows and were raring to go. The crew of Stella (not one for the crack of sparrows) woke to find the harbour in a state of chaos. No, not because of Moli’s new crew (that comes later). A ferry was coming into the harbour, there was a huge gullet where it wanted to moor up. The boats anchored in the middle found them selves caught up in the stand off between the gullet and the ferry. There were some spaces on the quay by Moli and it became a bit of a free for all as boats of various sizes all raced to get a spot.

A little later Moli and her crew upped anchor and headed off for the first part of the ‘Moli Limnos tour’. The crew all smartly dressed in their ‘Limnos tour’ teeshirts were a sight to be hold. I’m not sure if it was my imagination, but I thought I detected a hint of terror on Captain Ian’s face as Moli edged out of the harbour and we were treated to the special ‘Moli salute’. That definitely deserved a ‘holy double moly’!!

We joined the ‘Moli Limnos tour’ in Freshwater bay. We’d been cordially invited by Charlie and his Angels (that poor poor man) to a bbq on Moli. Never ones to refuse an evening of good food, grown ups lemonade and fine company of course, we hot tailed it down to Freshwater bay and were not disappointed. An excellent night, cheers mateys!

The next day both boats headed off to Mourdhros quay, which was just around the corner from Freshwater bay. We were both moored alongside the quay. For some bizarre reason Moli seemed to be attracting rather a lot of attention. Men in cars were driving by the boat at a snails pace. Were they slowing down to inspect Captain Ian’s fine mooring lines, could it have been his two steering wheels or was it something else altogether?

Methinks this was one of those ‘holy moly moments’. We’re all adults here (apart from any younger readers) I think we all know why they were slowing down. It was to inspect the rather substantial vent to Moli’s new super duper (it has reached capacity) holding tank!!!

I’m just joshing with you they were ogling the ladies!! Just once more I promise ‘Holy double Moly!!’ We had another fine night chez Moli. Double cheers mateys!!

The next day we bade a sad farewell to Moli and her crew as they headed off back to Merini. What can I say ladies and gent, it’s been real!! Still got ‘trotterphobia’ but won’t go into that now! Take care of yourselves.

Love and laughter Captain M & Karen XX
