Everyone seemed to get eaten by the mosquitos last night, (not Karen for some strange reason) Meg was up early unusually and Rich continued to snore well past 10am. The mint-machine was still next door, we upped anchor fairly early and headed for Mourtos. No wind again meant a chug back to the mainland, we anchored close to where we were the other day, next to the pirate ship! We checked he wasn’t Albanian and decided German pirates would be ok.
A quick swim and lunch and we thought we head into Mourtos quay, we actually saw Miles dive into the sea to collect the shoreline (we have photographic evidence to follow). Now our reversing skills are second to none and we parked up on the quay with little effort (easy when there’s a big space and people onshore to help with the mayhem) Miles still likes to hide away at the front and pretend to be in charge of the anchor. Bless him!!!!
Only one restaurant had showers and luckily we were sensible enough to get there early, we were able to sit with a beer and watch reams of other sailors and beach goers (bikini clad girls) heading for the showers, poor old Miles sat in the wrong place again.
A few beers and wine later and it was time to head ashore for food, Karen had already cooked some pasta for tomorrows lunch.
A very nice evening meal was followed by a wander around to see the sights. Miles decided to try and make friends with a parrot and subsequently got attacked by it! Rich nearly wet himself laughing but couldn’t get the camera out in time.
We all agreed Mourtos quay was an ideal spot right where the action is and free!!! We would definitely recommend it for a visit.
Oh happy days
Love Rich, Meg, Karen & Miles XXX
