Limeni to Porto Kayio (approx 26 nm)

There was a spot of blue sky so we decided to leave. I think we were all a bit apprehensive things had been bad in the bay, but what lay beyond. We had to leave if we stayed any longer we’d end up wintering there.

The general consensus was to reef the sails before we ventured out. This done we set off, there were a few gusts as we left the bay which crew member Marcus thought was pretty exciting (he’s a loose canon that one). This made us even more nervous, time for another reef. Ten minutes later wind drops to zero!!

We managed to sail on and off throughout the journey, but were just pootling along. Moli went into the harbour first and tried to moor up on the quay but were waved away (no feet on terra firma tonight). They anchored in the bay opposite and unfortunately picked up a fishing line on their prop. Man from Atlantis Ian dived down and sorted it out. The bay was lovely, nothing there except us.

Crew member Marcus was working towards his shore line badge, so when the command came he was in that water swimming ashore with a line. Well done that man, sooooo glad I didn’t have to do it.

We went for a swim (well it’s our new way of washing). Crewmen Marcus went mountain climbing to get some good photos. Then the rain came, time to batten down the hatches once again. Rain didn’t stop so we didn’t surface till the morning.
