Return to Zante to deposit crew member Linda.

We left Sami for the journey back to Zante as Linda had a flight to catch on Sunday. Once again Linda was on the helm, we were having to motor as there was very little wind. We didn’t mind to much because as we were going along, we saw some dolphins!

Linda’s helming skills came into their own, when we had a bucket overboard incident. Captain Miles decided to wash the decks with sea water as we were going along. You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to guess what happened next.... luckily the bucket was retrieved and we carried on with our journey.

It then started to rain, now we’ve had rain each day at some point since Linda arrived (this is a no blame boat). It usually rained lightly for a bit then stopped, sometimes there might have been a bit of thunder & lightening to add a touch of spice. On this occasion it rained and rained and rained, quite heavily. Although in true med style once it stopped the sun shone through. Sea dog was on the helm and having a jolly good time playing with the winds using just the Genoa, his words were ‘a fantastic sail’. Stella Maris is always happy to oblige a happy crew member.

On Sunday, before Linda caught her flight we walked to Argassi and had a couple of hours sunbathing, bliss with a capital B.

Congratulations (approx 71 nm covered) and farewell to Linda. She made her standby flight and returned to Blighty on time. We’ve got the Day Skipper book ready for her for next year.
