Woken up by the church bells, we had breakfast of croissants and coffee whilst watching the other flottilas depart. Once again there was no wind, we did get the sails up for a while but then we dropped to about 2 knots and on went the engine again...
We avoided the ferries again and went past Corfu town and back into Gouvia marina. After finding a berth back in Gouvia, we moored up next to the Bacardi Breezer cat’s boat. Within an hour, she was already snooping around, sure she heard someone mention our tins of tuna.
After a quick swim and Karen’s rather feeble attempt at trying to buy Miles a surprise bottle of bubbly, we had a quick swim, the showers ran out of water and then it was wine o’clock. Miles nearly shot Meg with the bubbly cork and then it was time to head off for Miles’ boxing-birthday meal.
Well we managed to stay up till midnight Telesilla Hotel were very accommodating and provided cheesy birthday music and cake to celebrate the start to Miles 40th birthday (yes I did say 40th birthday). We all agreed that is was a very nice meal and we were suitably stuffed to the gills!!!
Meg and Karen were dragged up to take part in a spot of Greek dancing luckily on this occasion no tables were set alight!!!
All the crew of Stella Maris have returned in one piece and agreed it had been a jolly good week.
